After much arguing and much resistance they finally mentioned getting us 5 year vouchers.īottom line is they pack divers in. Instead it was out off and put off and when I tried to cancel as they advised we couldn’t even go to a beach during a private boat trip (most private boats aren’t dive boats that pack in 30-40 divers) and this was not the experience I had in mind when I booked. But this should have been explained to us. They did not want to take us in the morning (as that takes a whole boat away from divers). The private snorkel tour was a rented dive boat. Our girls had a great discover experience and the reefs are awesome. The rough weather continued the next day. We got through the first tank and rescheduled. The first dive day was rough weather, but to top tagging off there was no introduction, no instruction, no welcome info. We also booked a private snorkel trip advertised as a private boat rental to include all 5 of us, as we have 19 month old son who cannot dive. We planned a family dive trip, including 12 tanks for myself and my husband, as well as the discover scuba for 2 teen girls. We hope to be back in the future, and we highly recommend Dressel Divers to everyone from first-time divers who want to learn about the sport to experienced divers who want to explore one of the best diving locations on the planet. The entire Dressel Divers operation at the Iberostar Cozumel was well-run and very professional, but most of all, it was a total blast. Miguel really gave her the experience of a lifetime. He made Guppy feel very safe in the open water and made the dive very fun for her. Omar was totally great, and he relayed diving basics (e.g., mask clearing, regulator location, gauge reading) in a clear way that Guppy could easily understand and implement.įinally, Guppy and I had two open water dives with Miguel. We then had a basic diving instruction pool session with Omar. Lorenza was absolutely wonderful and gave Guppy a very positive first experience with SCUBA diving. To start, Guppy had an introduction to diving pool session with Lorenza. I had gone diving many times in the past, but it had been over ten years (!) since my last dive. This was Guppy's first SCUBA diving experience. My younger daughter Guppy and I visited the Iberostar Cozumel and the on-site Dressel Divers during Easter week in 2021. Naza, the dive shop manager, and all his staff will take wonderful care to see you enjoy your your experience with them. They are there to point things out and help if you need, or they will just let you do your own thing if you so desire, still always keeping a watchful eye on you just in case.Īs a dive travel specialist and world dive traveler, I highly recommend that if you want to visit Cozumel, you choose to dive with Dressel Divers. These two were awesome in taking care of my group. If you are lucky enough to dive with Divemasters Omar and Anna, then you have struck gold. My veteran divers were completely satisfied with the service, and my newbie divers definitely improved their skills. The crews are friendly, accommodating, and eager to help you. Ideal for travelers who want to stay at a hotel with friendly staff.I just led a group of 16 divers to Iberostar Cozumel for a week of diving and everyone left with a smile on their face - absolutely no complaints. Note that there have been some recent reports of poor food quality and beach erosion (2022), though these issues are hopefully being addressed by management.
